The Kibingo Washing Station in the Kayanza Province in northern Burundi is known for processing high-quality coffee. With an elevation over 1800 meters the coffee grown here typically has a high acidity and fruit-like sweetness. The Kibingo Washing Station processes coffee cherries from over 3500 local farmers spread over the 18 neighboring colonies.

The Kayanza province is also very lush and serves as a largest source of the water for the Nile River.
